The Industries Department, Government of Maharashtra vide GR dtd. 17.3.2019 has declared the New Industrial Policy 2019. In the said Industrial Policy at Sr. No. 22.1, it is proposed to establish World Class (States of Art) Apex Institute for Entrepreneurship Development on the Corporation’s plot at Kalamboli, Dist. Raigad.
Apex Institute for Promotion of Entrepreneurship – State of the Art
Apex Entrepreneurship Development Institute of Maharashtra shall be established by the Government on the land of Maharashtra State Small Industrial Development Corporation (MSSIDC) Ltd. at Kalamboli, dist Raigad on approx. 24281.64 sq. mtr Plot taken on lease from CIDCO. The main features are as follows:
- The institute will be State’s Apex institute to promote entrepreneurship and will conduct exclusive entrepreneurship and management programs, sector specific skilling programmes, hands-on training, and mentoring to promote new generation entrepreneurs and start-ups.
- The institute will have residential facility for at least 200 participants.
- The institute will enter into national as well as international collaborations and will be equipped with state-of-the-art facilities like a Data Centre, E-Library, Incubation centre, exhibition and display centres etc.
- It will be represented by the organizations namely MSSIDC, MIDC, KVIB & the State Departments like the Technical & Higher Education Department, Social Justice & Tribal Department etc.
- The existing set-up of the Maharashtra Centre for Entrepreneurship Development (MCED) will be utilized for the institute.
- The Institute will be an autonomous body under the supervision of ACS/PS (Industries) and the Executive Council will be under the chairmanship of the Development Commissioner (Industries).
The Corporation has submitted a proposal to the Government for the following activities in the proposed Apex Entrepreneurship Development Institute of Maharashtra :-
- To allot the proposed Exhibition Centre along with responsibility to organize all exhibitions, which will be organized there by MSSIDC
- To allot proposed training center floor along with responsibility to organize various training programs,
- To allot one complete floor to establish Corporation’s office 8 to 10 sitting arrangement for Officers and furniture & sitting arrangements for 50 employees the Corporation and
- To allot responsibility for management of hostel for trainees in the above-proposed Apex Institute.
